Bozeman Health opens spine and joint institute

Bozeman (Mont.) Health has opened a new spine and joint institute inside of the newly constructed inpatient unit at Deaconess Regional Medical Center in partnership with a team of orthopedic surgeons at Alpine Orthopedics and Bridger Orthopedics, according to a Nov. 16 report from the Longview News-Journal.

The Bozeman Health Spine + Joint Institute will specialize in elective joint replacement and spine surgery. 

Ben Smith, DO, will serve as medical director of the new institute. The inpatient unit will include 18 orthopedic-dedicated beds, patient-centered nurse navigators, specialized orthopedic nursing staff and an on-unit physical therapy and rehabilitation gym

It will be open to patients beginning Nov. 28.
