Four things to know:
1. The certification recognizes facilities that show expertise in cervical and lumbar fusion, cervical laminectomy and lumbar laminectomy/discectomy procedures, resulting in low complication and readmission rates.
2. The Fall River, Mass.-based hospital recently acquired an ExcelsiusGPS robotic navigation system for spine surgery.
3. It is the first hospital in the state to receive The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal certification for spinal surgery, according to its website.
4. Saint Anne’s was also designated as a Blue Distinction Center for knee and hip replacements.
