Baptist Memorial Health Care, OrthoSouth team to develop new orthopedic facility

Memphis, Tenn.-based OrthoSouth and Baptist Memorial Health Care are partnering to build the Institute for Orthopedic Excellence, Memphis Business Journal reports.

Four things to know:

1. The new facility will feature 24-hour admissions for orthopedic injuries that require hospitalizations.

2. OrthoSouth physicians will work at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis, Tenn., and Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto in Southaven, Miss., to facilitate admissions.

3. BMHC features more than 5,000 affiliated physicians and operates 22 hospitals across West Tennessee, Mississippi and Eastern Arkansas.

4. Memphis Orthopaedic Group, OrthoMemphis and Tabor Orthopedics rebranded as OrthoSouth in August. The practice now has eight clinics and 42 physicians.
