Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Avera Health has acquired The Center for Neurosciences, Orthopaedics & Spine’s practice in Dakota Dunes, S.D., effective Jan. 1, 2027.
The practice will operate as Avera CNOS. The deal followed a lengthy vetting process and reflects a shared vision between the two organizations on the future of regional health care. It also builds on an existing working relationship between Avera’s network and CNOS physicians, according to a July 15 news release.
The acquisition includes more than 100 physicians, advanced practice providers, physical therapists, occupational therapists and athletic trainers across nine specialties and subspecialties, along with more than 350 staff. The partnership also includes eight clinic locations.
CNOS, which was formed in the 1990s, provides outreach services to 29 satellite locations across the region. The health system currently has two hospitals, seven partner hospitals, 15 clinics and multiple specialty outreach locations in Iowa.
At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
