1. Specifically, the IHMI seeks to bring health and technology industries together to improve predictive analytics and boost patient outcomes.
2. Any healthcare or technology stakeholder is welcome to join IHMI’s efforts. IBM, Cerner, Intermountain Healthcare, American Heart Association and American Medical Informatics Association are already on board.
3. IHMI will work to craft a common data model to collect, organize, exchange and analyze health data.
4. The AMA is currently hosting clinical and issue-based communities with a focus on costly areas. Efforts in this community will hone in on areas like hypertension management, diabetes prevention and asthma function.
5. The society will also create a clinical validation process for appropriate clinical frameworks.
6. Additionally, the AMA will identify a model for encoding information into the IHMI data model.
