Alphatec made several other moves in conjunction with naming Mr. Rich CEO.
Here’s what you should know.
1. Mr. Rich has more than 25 years of experience in the orthopedic, spine and medical device business. He was recently the president of upper extremities at Memphis, Tenn.-based Wright Medical Group.
2. The company also named Jon Allen its first executive vice president of commercial operations and Amy Ables, PhD, its first vice president of corporate education and performance.
3. Mr. Rich, Mr. Allen and Ms. Ables were previously senior executives at Bloomington, Minn.-based Tornier. At Tornier the trio helped reposition Tornier ahead of its merger with Wright Medical in 2015.
4. Chairman of the Board of Directors Tim Berkowitz said the leadership support Alphatec’s new spinal fusion product offerings “as we move to unlock the potential of our product portfolio across the U.S. spine market.”
