Dr. Yearwood had tried to climb Everest once before in 2015. On that climb, he survived an avalanche that took the lives of 19 others on the mountain.
The Everest Parivar Expedition agency reported they are still sorting out details of the 50-year-old’s death.
Dr. Yearwood was an internal medicine specialist.
