An investigation found an unauthorized party gained access to the practice’s systems and data on Jan. 29, according to a July 25 notice. Advantage Orthopedic and Sports Medicine removed unauthorized access, changed passwords and expanded its use of multifactor authentication.
Data accessed included names, Social Security numbers and medical records, but there is no indication that sensitive data was misused, the practice said.
