James Fleming Jr., MD, will lead the center. He’s been a spine surgeon with Adena Health since 2004.

“The new Adena Orthopedic and Spine Institute is going to be a beacon for first-rate, regional care for southern and south-central Ohio,” he told the paper.

The center, which cost $70 million, was announced in 2019. It will have 80 exam rooms, six operating rooms that can accommodate robotics and inpatient recovery areas. Services will include orthopedics, spine and neurology.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
