AAMC President Dr. Darrell Kirch to leave post in 2019 — 4 things to know

Darrell G. Kirch, MD, president and CEO of Association of American Medical Colleges, has plans to leave his post.

Here are four things to know.

 

1. Dr. Kirch is leaving his position June 30, 2019.

 

2. Dr. Kirch has been at the helm of AAMC since July 2006.

 

3. AAMC’s board of directors and Immediate Past Chair Marsha D. Rappley, MD, will head a nationwide search to replace him.

 

4. He is a psychiatrist and neuroscientist who has published 150-plus articles and book chapters.
