Here are seven statistics on the average hours per week that orthopedic physicians spend seeing patients in the hospital, based on the Medscape Orthopedist Compensation Report: 2013 Results.

Of the orthopedic physicians surveyed on the amount of time spent in the hospital with patients:
•    5 percent spend 20 to 24 hours per week
•    6 percent spend 15 to 19 hours per week
•    10 percent spend 25 hours or more per week
•    12 percent spend 10 to 14 hours
•    15 percent spend less than an hour
•    19 percent spend five to nine hours
•    33 percent spend one to four hours
