Tallahassee (Fla.) Orthopedic Clinic opened its Spine and Joint Replacement Surgery Center Jan. 23, outgoing CEO Michael Boblitz said in an email shared with Becker’s.

The ASC is one of the only centers of its kind in the U.S. with Mako, ROSA and the O Arm Spine Navigation System, Mr. Boblitz said. The facility replicates the traditional hospital environment with private patient rooms and private bathrooms.

The ASC will also help save the Tallahassee business community millions each year, Mr. Boblitz said.

“I quickly realized the need to evolve into a full service orthopedic platform to ensure our organization is well positioned for another 50 years of success,” Mr. Boblitz told Becker’s in March. “Our Vision 2030 Strategic Plan serves as our road map for the future. With the payers now reporting orthopedics as the second highest cost condition, the data becomes crystal clear that investing in a spine and joint replacement surgery center is a must.”

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
