6 Steps to Help Physicians Tackle Stress on a Daily Basis

In an AAOS Now article, Alan H. Rosenstein, MD, a practicing internist in San Francisco and medical director for Physician Wellness Services in Minneapolis, discusses the problem of physician stress and lays out steps that physicians can take on a daily basis to help mitigate stress.

Here are the six steps:

 

1. Try not to overextend yourself.
2. Sit down for breakfast.
3. Take time for a healthy snack.
4. Schedule “down time.”
5. Read a non-medical journal.
6. Go for a 10-minute walk.
