6 statistics on physician health and lifestyle

More than half of physicians have considered alternative medical treatments, according to Physicians Practice’s 2014 Great American Physician Survey.

The survey includes responses from 1,311 physicians.

 

Here are six statistics on physicians’ health and lifestyles, according to the report:

 

•    I eat right most of the time — 75.7 percent
•    I get routine checkups and follow my doctor’s advice, at least most of the time — 60.4 percent
•    I, as a patient, have considered alternative medical treatments — 55.1 percent
•    I get adequate sleep — 54.3 percent
•    I exercise on a regular basis — 51.2 percent
•    I smoke cigarettes — 5.7 percent
