The report includes responses from 13,575 physicians. The survey was conducted on behalf of The Physicians Foundation by Merritt Hawkins and completed in September 2012.
When asked how many hours per week they spend on non-clinical work, respondents reported the following:
• 0 to 10 hours — 58 percent
• 11 to 20 hours — 26.1 percent
• 21 to 30 hours — 9.3 percent
• 31 to 40 hours — 3.7 percent
• 41 to 50 hours — 1.5 percent
• 51 to 60 hours — 0.9 percent
• 61 or more hours — 0.5 percent
