Becker's Spine Review reported on 19 spine practices that opened in 2021. Here is a state-by-state breakdown:

Huntsville Hospital opened its $150 million Orthopedic & Spine Tower.


Phoenix-based HonorHealth on May 20 opened a $44 million neuroscience institute in Scottsdale.

Neurosurgeon John Spitalieri, DO, has opened the Arizona Neurosurgery & Spine Center in Prescott.


The University of Arkansas Medical Sciences opened a spine clinic Jan. 19 in Little Rock.


Todd Lanman, MD, launched the Advanced Disc Replacement Spinal Restoration Center in Los Angeles.


Scott Falci, MD, has launched and will lead the Falci Institute for Spinal Cord Injuries at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood.


A joint-venture orthopedic and spine hospital opened Jan. 4 at Ascension St. Vincent's Southside campus in Jacksonville.

Neurosurgeons John Afshar, MD, and John Robinson Jr., MD, opened a Stuart office as part of Palm Beach Neuroscience Institute.

Jason Cuellar, MD brought his spine practice, Advanced Disc Replacement Spinal Restoration Center, to Florida, along with his clinical partner, Todd Lanman, MD.

Ceda Orthopedic Group opened a spine surgery center in Miami, where the group is based.


The Emory Orthopaedics & Spine Center has opened at the Atlanta Falcons' Flowery Branch training facility.


Kankakee-based Riverside Healthcare opened its Orthopedic and Spine Center on June 1.


Matthew Hefner, MD, joined the Willis-Knighton Physician Network and established WK Precision Neurosurgery in Bossier City.


Nonprofit health system St. Luke's has opened a spine center in Duluth.

Thomas Cartwright, MD, opened a spine clinic in Texas.


Olympia (Wash.) Orthopaedic Associates announced plans to open a spine center in August.
