“Improving the health of the nation is at the core of the AMA’s work and Health2047 will build partnerships to create new solutions for physicians and their patients to improve healthcare delivery and health outcomes,” said AMA CEO and Executive Vice President James L. Madara, MD.
Here are five key notes:
1. Health2047 is an integrated innovation company combining strategy, design and venture disciplines that partners with other companies, physicians and entrepreneurs to improve healthcare.
2. The facility includes a studio in Silicon Valley to leverage the AMA’s relationship with physicians and develop products, tools and resources aimed at improving the practice of medicine and healthcare delivery. The organization will also work with health policy experts and other fields to accomplish its goals.
3. The AMA made a financial commitment to establish Health 2047 in addition to recent integrated innovation initiatives internally generated for physician-oriented digital tools. The organization also targets and engages healthcare start-ups.
4. Physicians will have the opportunity to engage in innovation and share ideas, expertise and real-world perspective on new technology in the medical practice setting.
5. The AMA also has an innovation hub in Chicago — MATTER — developed to create the physician office of the future.
