5 things to know about OrthoCarolina

Charlotte, N.C.-based OrthoCarolina is one of the largest orthopedic groups in the U.S.

Five things to know:

1. OrthoCarolina has 121 physicians and more than 34 locations. The group also has more than 20 physical therapy locations, 16 MRI centers and eight urgent care offices.

2. Leo Spector, MD, was named CEO of OrthoCarolina in October, and he stepped into the role in January. 

3. Paul Neagle is COO of OrthoCarolina, according to the practice’s website. Robert McBride, Jr., MD, serves as president of the group, and Brent Shear is CFO.

4. Charlotte, N.C.-based OrthoCarolina partnered with Medical Brain, an artificial intelligence company. The platform helps practices with patient monitoring and reduces staff workload.

5. Durham, N.C.-based EmergeOrtho and Charlotte, N.C.-based OrthoCarolina partnered to form HiVE of the Carolinas. HiVE, or Health Innovation Value Enterprise, is a value-based enterprise that brings together the practices and a national specialist partner. The partnership aims to enhance patient outcomes and reduce costs.
