Here are five things to know:
1. Patients can access the telemedicine services through MDLIVE, an on-demand telehealth company.
2. Patients can speak with board-certified physicians by video, phone or MDLIVE mobile app.
3. Consumers should use the telemedicine services for non-emergency situations and when their physicians are not available.
4. Patients can also get prescriptions through MDLIVE.
5. MDLIVE phone services are available at all hours, and video services are available at certain times throughout the week.
“Not every medical concern warrants a trip to the doctor — some issues can be resolved with a conversation over the phone or through video chat,” said Frank L. Urbano, MD, MBA, senior medical director at AmeriHealth New Jersey.
