The report includes responses from 1,200 physicians, 30 percent of whom are primary care physicians and 76 percent of whom are specialists.
When asked which scenarios with retail clinics would be beneficial for their practice, respondents reported the following:
• We could direct patients to a trusted retail clinic for after hours or overflow care — 7 percent
• We could receive referrals from clinics for primary care beyond the service scope of retail clinics — 11 percent
• We could exchange data with retail clinic providers to ensure care continuity with our patients — 18 percent
• All of the above — 39 percent
• None of the above — 25 percent
