5 States With Lowest Percentages of Medicaid & Medicare Beneficiaries

New Hampshire had the lowest percentage of Medicaid beneficiaries and Alaska had the lowest percentages of Medicare beneficiaries in 2011 to 2012, according to State Health Facts, a project of the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation.

1. New Hampshire — 8 percent     
2. North Dakota — 9 percent
3. Nevada — 10 percent
4. Virginia — 10 percent
5. Utah     — 10 percent
