1. Among physicians, 41 percent use smartphones while 45 percent use tablets.

 

2. For work-related content, physicians are using mobile technology for:

 

• New technologies: 30 percent
• Specialty-specific content: 29 percent
• CMS articles: 24 percent
• Practice management: 11 percent

 

3. Seventy-six percent of physicians use mobile apps at work.

 

4. Physicians want to use mobile apps in the future to:

 

• Read journals on- and offline
• Search content and past issues with free text searches
• Watch video and add depth to articles

 

5. The top three reasons for physicians to adopt mobile health include: time efficiency, cost efficiency and improved quality and continuity of care.
