5 Areas, Trends That Will Impact Practicing Physicians in 2014

The Physicians Foundation, a nonprofit organization that seeks to advance the work of practicing physicians and help facilitate the delivery of healthcare to patients, identified five areas and trends that will have major effects on practicing physicians in 2014.

1. The movement from consolidation to “monopolization.”
2. Growing regulatory burden.  
3. Confusion regarding Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act implementation.
4. Health IT shortfalls.
5. Health system stalemates.
