The report includes responses from 1,200 physicians, 30 percent of whom are primary care physicians and 76 percent of whom are specialists.
When asked what they believe is the impact of EHRs on patient care, respondents reported the following:
• Somewhat improve patient care — 47 percent
• Significantly improve patient care — 27 percent
• Has no effect on patient care — 15 percent
• Somewhat worsens patient care — 14 percent
• Significantly worsens patient care — 3 percent
