4 spine, orthopedic surgeons expanding to Florida

In the past year, Becker’s has reported on four prominent surgeons with practices in California, Colorado and Alabama who are expanding their practices to Florida, which is expected to become a key battleground for orthopedics in the coming years.

1. Michael Janssen, DO, founder of Denver-based Center for Spine & Orthopedics, opened a clinic in Saratoga, Fla. Dr. Janssen is a frequent visitor to Saratoga, where he began seeing patients in November.

2. James Andrews, MD, is taking Birmingham, Ala.-based Andrews Sports Medicine to Florida through a partnership with Flagler Health+ in St. Augustine. The organizations are building an ASC at Flagler’s Durbin Park campus in St. Johns, Fla.

3. ADR Spinal Restoration Center, the Beverly Hills, Calif.-based spine practice of Todd Lanman, MD, and Jason Cuellar, MD, has expanded to Miami. The surgeons plan to roll out more locations in Austin, Texas, and Tampa, Fla.
