3 spine surgeons, practices expanding across state lines

In the last two months, Becker’s reported on one spine surgeon who expanded his practice across state lines and a spine practice and orthopedic group that detailed plans to do the same:

Michael Janssen, DO, founder of the Center for Spine & Orthopedics in Denver, opened a spine clinic in Saratoga, Fla. Dr. Janssen is a frequent visitor to Saratoga and began seeing patients monthly in the new clinic in November.

Providence, R.I.-based University Orthopedics will open an orthopedic office with three physicians in Mansfield, Mass., in February. The center will provide a range of services including spine surgery, sports medicine, general orthopedics and pain management.

Fargo, N.D.-based Northern Neurosurgery & Spine is set to lease space in a $16 million medical facility with a surgery center in Duluth, Minn. The center will combine clinical and surgical care under one roof. Construction will begin in June and end late next year.
