The three reasons are:
1. If staff members fear the physician, their guard is always up, and they cannot fully focus on their work.
2. Fear is an instinctive response to a perceived threat, and sometimes the staff member’s perception of threat maybe more than intended by the physician.
3. A single destructive interaction can do serious, long-lasting, damage to a professional relationship between people in different positions.
