3 orthopedic mergers, acquisitions in the past month

Deal-making is afoot in the orthopedic space.

In the past month, Becker’s Spine Review has covered three mergers and acquisitions involving orthopedic groups:

1. Fort Collins, Colo.-based ​​Orthopaedic & Spine Center of the Rockies and Longmont, Colo.-based Front Range Orthopedics & Spine on June 9 signed a definitive agreement to merge practices.

2. The Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colo., signed a letter of intent to absorb OrthoAspen, which is part of Aspen (Colo.) Valley Hospital. OrthoAspen employees were notified about the planned transition May 29.

3. Merrick, N.Y.-based The Orlin & Cohen Orthopedic Group acquired New York City-based Healthcare Associates in Medicine May 14.
