This is a significant increase from the 2013 report, which shows 9 percent of orthopedic surgeons participating in ACOs and 13 percent planning to in the coming year. As a result, in 2014 28 percent of orthopedic surgeons are participating in ACOs or planning to participate, up 6 percent from 2013.
At the same time, orthopedic surgeons participating in concierge practices and cash-only practices remained flat over the past year at 2 percent and 3 percent respectively.
