1. The Institute for Orthopedic Surgery & Sports Medicine announced plans to merge with Orthopedic Center of Florida starting April 1. The move comes after IOSSM and Orthopedic Center of Florida, both in Fort Myers, joined Healthcare Outcomes Performance Company in September, HOPCo said in a Jan. 9 news release. Together the expanded practice has more than 28 providers across four locations in Lee and Collier counties.

2. Baton Rouge Orthopaedic Clinic and Lafayette-based Louisiana Orthopedic Specialists plan to merge. Together the practices will form the largest independent orthopedic group in the state. Both practices will operate independently under their existing brands but share combined resources and expertise. The merger is expected to launch in the third quarter of 2024.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
