Together the practices will form the largest independent orthopedic group in the state, according to a March 15 news release from BROC shared with Becker’s. Both practices will operate independently under their existing brands but share combined resources and expertise.

The merger is expected to launch in the third quarter of 2024.

BROC has 38 physicians and 10 locations. Louisiana Orthopaedic Specialists has 16 physicians, three clinics and three physical therapy locations.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
