Under alignment, OrthoIndy and Indiana Hand to Shoulder Center share operational resources and an expanded footprint. OrthoIndy has 12 locations, and Indiana Hand to Shoulder Center has 10 locations.
“This alignment works to ensure that we will continue to serve the community’s orthopedic needs as an independent physician practice, which we believe is vital to Indiana’s healthcare ecosystem,” John Ryan, CEO of OrthoIndy, said in the release. “In a world where we more often read headlines about health systems acquiring physician practices or physician practices selling to private equity, we believe that now more than ever independent physician practices are the key to delivering the highest quality, reasonably-priced care to the communities we serve.”
The practices’ alignment is expected to be complete in the first half of 2025. There won’t be any immediate changes to patient care or scheduling.
