•    Get to know patients
•    Perfect diagnostic skills
•    Build a patient base
•    Acquaint yourself with the best people and places for referrals
•    Be aware of your clinic list and schedule
•    End each clinic visit with a good resolution and patient plan
•    Develop clear written instructions for patient treatment and postoperative protocol
•    Don’t expect to do the same number of OR cases as you did in fellowship
•    Allow more time than you think you’ll need for cases
•    Don’t overbook OR cases
•    Write down technical steps for cases
•    Devise preference cards
•    Hire great OR and clinic support staff
