Family Practice Management is a journal of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Here are the 12 Strategies:
1. Use your time in the morning wisely to prepare for the day.
2. Stop expecting patients to change unhealthy behaviors overnight.
3. When you are proud of the progress a patient or staff member has made, let it show.
4. Provide at least one free service a day for someone in need.
5. Cultivate new skills and expertise in new procedures.
6. Build relationships with coworkers and support staff.
7. Fully engage yourself in the office visit.
8. Moonlight in different work settings occasionally, such as an emergency room.
9. Play music that you and your patients will enjoy in your office.
10. When taking on a new task or project, eliminate or delegate a current one, no matter how small.
11. Implement systems to help you and your staff get out of the office on time.
12. If you’re feeling isolated, go online for some give-and-take with other physicians.
