Orthopedic and Spine Industry Leader to Know: Dr. Phani K. Dantuluri of Resurgens Orthopaedics

Phani K. Dantuluri, MD, is a sports medicine surgeon with a special interest in hand and wrist surgery. He is the chief of the division of shoulder surgery at The Philadelphia Hand Center and Resurgens Orthopaedics in Georgia. He regularly diagnoses and treats patients with shoulder, elbow and hand conditions and injuries.

Dr. Dantuluri is a member of several professional organizations and served as the president of The Philadelphia and Upper Extremity Society from 2007-2009. He is also a member of the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, from which he earned the Young Leader Award.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Dantuluri has served as a clinical instructor at Harvard Medical School in Boston and assistant professor in the department of orthopedics at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He is the author of textbook chapters on shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand surgery and edited a textbook on distal radial fractures.

During his career, Dr. Dantuluri has been the associate team physician for the New England Patriots, Boston Bruins, Philadelphia Phillies and Philadelphia Sixers. He has also published several articles and release surgical instructional videos on shoulder instability and shoulder arthroplasty.

Dr. Dantuluri earned his medical degree from Brown University Providence (R.I.), and completed his residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New Hyde Park, N.Y. His additional training includes the Harvard combined upper extremity fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston and an international fellowship with Dr. Giles Walch, past president of the Shoulder and Elbow Society, in Lyon, France.
