Orthopedic and Spine Industry Leader to Know: Dr. Michelle Andrews of Cincinnati Sportsmedicine

Michelle Andrews, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon with the Cincinnati Sportsmedicine and Orthopaedic Center and has an expertise in sports medicine. She has served on the Board of Trustees for the Women's Sports Foundation and the Women's Basketball Coaches Foundation. She was also invited to the White House by former president Bill Clinton to be honored for her work with the Women's Sports Foundation.

During her career, Dr. Andrews served as a councilor for the Academy of Medicine of Cincinnati, where she served on the "Women in Medicine" and "School Partnership" committees. She has served on the U.S. Olympic Special Committee and is currently on the Jewish Hospital medical executive committee. Dr. Andrews has been named a top medical specialist by Cincinnati Magazine.

In addition to her clinical and organization work, Dr. Andrews has been a part of several research projects and published articles in professional journals. The article topics cover several areas in sports medicine, including the difference in complications between male and female patients during ACL reconstruction, ACL reconstruction in young patients and hip revision surgery.

Dr. Andrews is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and the Arthroscopy Association of North America. She is also a member of the Ruth Jackson Society for women orthopedists.

Dr. Andrews earned her medical degree from Hahnemann University Medical Center in Philadelphia and completed her residency in orthopedic surgery at Yale-New Haven (Conn.) Hospital. Dr. Andrews also completed a sports medicine fellowship at Cincinnati Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center.
