Orthopedic and Spine Leader to Know: Dr. Garrison Rolle of Tallahassee (Fla.) Orthopedic Clinic

When Sacred Heart Hospital on the Gulf in Pensacola, Fla., teamed up with Tallahassee (Fla.) Orthopedic Clinic to launch orthopedic services, Garrison Rolle, MD, was the first to perform orthopedic surgery at the new hospital on July 9. He performed arthroscopic knee repair on Arion Ward, a Port St. Joe (Fla.) High School student who hurt his knee playing basketball over the summer.

Tallahassee Orthopedic Clinic has been a leading partner of Sacred Heart Hospital on the Gulf since the $38 million SHHG facility was built nearby. As demand for orthopedic services intensifies at Sacred Heart, TOC plans to add a full-time surgeon who will have offices inside the medical office building now under construction on SHHG's campus.

"I am very excited to be at the new hospital," said Dr. Rolle in an interview with WMBB News. "I have been part of several start-up programs at hospitals partnering with TOC, and this has been one of the easiest start-ups ever. Both the facility and the staff are great."

Dr. Rolle specializes in sports medicine and knee surgery. He joined TOC in 1997 and currently practices at the clinic's locations at Capital Medical Boulevard in Tallahassee and Marianna, Fla.

Dr. Rolle earned his MD and completed a fellowship in sports medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville. He completed his residency at the Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation in New Orleans.
