NuVasive's latest spine implant launch, J&J's Q3 revenue & more: 4 device company notes

Johnson & Johnson's third-quarter orthopedic sales and three more updates from spine and orthopedic device companies in the last week:

1. NuVasive launched its Cohere TLIF-O implant for posterior spine surgery. Another Cohere implant, TLIF-A, is expected to launch later this year.

2. Spine devicemaker Globus Medical is suing Life Spine for allegations of patent infringement. Life Spine's CEO said the company plans to "vigorously defend" against the allegations.

3. Johnson & Johnson reported a 4.5 percent decrease in orthopedic sales in the third quarter, but global sales saw a slight increase. Read the details here.

4. Carlsmed's patient-specific spine implant, Aprevo, received a transitional pass-through payment from CMS. The nod comes weeks after CMS granted the new technology add-on payment.
