Jeff Cambra, a medtech executive who spent 12 years at Medtronic and most recently worked for Zimmer Biomet, has been appointed CEO of SpinaFX Medical, a Toronto-based minimally invasive image-guided therapy startup.

Mr. Cambra has proven experience in managing product development, commercialization and mergers and acquisitions, with a strong focus on interventional spine technologies and biologics, according to an Oct. 1 news release.

Last year, he left his post as vice president, general manager of Medtronic's interventional therapies business, to become vice president of Zimmer Biomet, where he led product development of its $5 billion reconstruction business.

He also spent 13 years at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, now Pfizer, in various leadership roles.

SpinaFX Medical's minimally-invasive image-guided ozone therapy is designed to relieve pain and disability for patients with herniated discs, according to the company's website.
