Spinal Elements launches 2 minimally invasive spine systems

Spinal Tech

Spinal Elements' Luna XD and Orbit systems were made fully available in a commercial launch, according to a Sept. 15 news release.

Here's what to know:

1. The Luna XD and Orbit systems are part of Spinal Elements' minimally invasive platform of products.

2. Luna XD allows an anterior lumbar interbody fusion-sized implant to be inserted from a minimally invasive access point. The Orbit system uses a minimally invasive approach for discectomies.

3. Andrew White, MD, chief of spine surgery at Boston-based Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center lauded the products: "The Luna XD interbody and the Orbit Discectomy system help me to achieve my desired surgical goals of restoring interbody height and restoring lordosis, thereby alleviating radicular pain …. It really has expanded what I can offer to patients with a minimally invasive treatment."
