Medtronic's StealthStation S8 surgical system will use Surgical Theater's SyncAR augmented reality interface in a new partnership.

The SyncAR technology lets neurosurgeons visualize brain structures, test virtual surgical tools and plan ahead of surgeries, according to an April 26 news release. Paired with Medtronic's StealthStation S8 system, the AR technology will track surgical instruments and guide surgeons during procedures.

"We believe by combining Medtronic's market-leading surgical navigation, and Surgical Theater's trailblazing visualization capabilities, SyncAR technology now offers the most comprehensive solution for neurosurgical planning, workflow and operative execution," Moty Avisar, CEO of Surgical Theater said.
