Device company offers 'lifetime limited warranty' for rods used in spinal fusion

Spinal Tech

Spine device company MiRus said Feb. 23 that it will offer a lifetime limited warranty on its Molybdenum-Rhenium superalloy rod technology.

Should a MoRe rod fracture, the warranty will cover full replacement of the rod and associated MiRus hardware used in the spinal fusion surgery.

Effective March 1, the warranty will cover all thoracolumbar MoRe rods implanted as part of the Europa pedicle screw system supplied by MiRus in the U.S.

MoRe technology is designed to have greater strength and fatigue resistance than titanium, cobalt and iron materials, according to the company.

"Because of our confidence in the science behind the MoRe alloy technology, MiRus is taking the extra step to warranty each MoRe rod implanted for the duration of the patient's life," Jay Yadav, MD, founder and CEO, said. "This is a testament to our belief in MoRe's dramatically superior mechanical and biological properties."
