Nexxt Spine implants first cervical turn-lock system

Spinal Tech

Nexxt Spine implanted its first Nexxt Matrixx SA Cervical Turn-Lock System for the spine, according to a Dec. 3 press release.

The device eliminates the need for traditional plate and screw fixation and provides a zero-profile construct in anterior cervical fusion procedures, the release said. A 90-degree one-step turn-lock and self-guided instrumentation are designed to increase surgeon confidence and efficiency.

The initial implantation was done by John Klekamp, MD, at Franklin, Tenn.-based Williamson Medical Center in August, the release said. Since then, more than 50 more surgeries have been done across the country.
