From a private equity deal to a new orthopedic cancer care initiative, here are six partnerships Becker's Spine Review has reported on in the last month:

1. Jackson-based Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center partnered with private equity firm Thurston Group, establishing U.S. Orthopedic Partners.

2. Middle Park Health in Granby, Colo., teamed with Vail-Summit Orthopaedics and Neurosurgery to expand orthopedic services.

3. David Skarda, MD, partnered with analytics company Empiric Health to develop initiatives for improving surgical quality and costs.

4. The Pro Football Hall of Fame collaborated with a network of health systems, physician groups and providers to establish Hall of Fame Health, a initiative for former NFL players.

5. The Orthopedic Health Center in Hoboken, N.J., announced plans to move into a Jersey City office with its new partner, the Spine & Sports Health Center.

6. Phoenix-based The CORE Institute entered into a partnership with Cancer Treatment Centers of America Phoenix to treat bone and soft tissue cancers and tumors affecting the spinal cord.
