Michigan shoulder implant company raises $21M+ in capital

Holland, Mich.-based Shoulder Innovations closed $21.6 million in equity financing, according to a Nov. 2 press release.

The medical device company, which focuses on shoulder replacement systems, was founded in 2009, and in 2015 it partnered with Genesis Innovation Group, which provided financial capital and operational leadership, the release said.

The fundraising was led by US Venture Partners and Lightstone Ventures and included several other investors, the release said.

"With a full platform of products, Shoulder Innovations is in a position to accelerate its impact on the shoulder replacement market. We are proud of our partnerships with USVP, Lightstone and AVP, which have put SI on a financial foundation that will drive high growth rates," Matt Ahearn, Shoulder Innovations COO, said in the release.
