RTI Surgical bolsters spine business with 2 NuVasive veterans

Spinal implant developer RTI Surgical appointed Scott Durall and Bryan Cornwall, PhD, to its executive leadership team, effective June 15.

The two executives have more than 55 years of experience in the medical device industry combined.

Mr. Durall, former director of corporate sales and national accounts at Boston Scientific, will serve as vice president of research and clinical affairs. 

During his nine-year tenure at tenure at NuVasive, he served in several executive leadership roles, including executive vice president of strategic sales and operations.

Dr. Cornwall, associate professor of mechanical engineering at the University of San Diego Shiley-Marcos School of Engineering, joins as CFO. 

His 12-year tenure at NuVasive included leading roles such as president of the NuVasive Spine Foundation and senior vice president of research and clinical resources.
