Here are six key notes on orthopedic and spine device companies from the past week:

Medtronic on May 19 launched the Kyphon Assist Directional Cannula for balloon kyphoplasty procedures.

Orthopedic device manufacturer Implanet entered into exclusive negotiations May 18 to sell its Madison total knee implant.

Nevro on May 15 achieved CE mark approval for its Senza Omnia spinal cord stimulation system.

Swiss device company Neo Medical on May 14 raised $13.4 million through a financing round, which will go toward the company's growth and expansion plans into key target markets.

Ocutrx Vision Technologies unveiled its OR-Bot Surgery Visualization Theatre at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery meeting, which took place virtually May 16-17.

Orthopedic device company Globus Medical posted a first-quarter net profit of $25.9 million, representing a 21.9 percent decrease year over year.
