InspireMD appointed Marvin Slosman as its new CEO, effective Jan. 1, reports EIN Newsdesk.

Four things to know:

1. Mr. Slosman will replace outgoing CEO James Barry, PhD. He will also fill Dr. Barry's seat on the company's board of directors.

2. His goal is to expand the availability of the company's CGuardTM Embolic Prevention System, designed for the prevention of stroke caused by carotid artery disease.

3. The CGuard system prevents peri-procedural and late embolization by trapping potential emboli against the arterial wall while maintaining perfusion to the external carotid artery and branch vessels.

4. Mr. Slosman served in commercial leadership positions at Johnson & Johnson, GE Healthcare and Baxter, and is a former CEO of Ovalum.
