Hensler Surgical Technologies filed a lawsuit against Tobra Medical over patent infringement.

Four things to know:

1. Hensler claims that the Tobra Medical Bone Basket infringes on the Hensler Bone Press, both of which are used to collect and filter autologous bone during surgical procedures.

2. The complaint alleges Tobra founder Bradford Collins connected with Hensler in 2017 about becoming a sales representative. However, within months of that initial connection Tobra introduced its Bone Basket at a lower cost than the Hensler Bone Press.

3. In the complaint, Hensler cites areas where the company feels the Tobra Medical Bone Basket is technically inferior and accuses Mr. Collins and the company of making false statements about the tool's effectiveness and false advertising.

4. Hensler asks for a permanent injunction against infringing on its patent and seeks an unspecified amount of money in damages.
