The first procedures with Smith+Nephew's Journey II Unicompartmental Knee System were reported Dec. 3.

Three insights:

1. The Journey system is intended to provide faster recovery and improved functionality for patients.

2. The knee device aims to improve value and cost-effectiveness through a reduced OR footprint.

3. Journey features an enhanced size range and lateral specific implant that allows surgeons to maintain the shape, position and motion of a knee joint during partial knee arthroplasty.
